A letter to Camdyn on her 6th Birthday!

My Dearest Camdyn,

“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. When you’re not happy, skies are gray...”

Today you are six. I’ve been telling you for a while that I needed you to stop growing up so fast and you always respond with “But Mommy, my body just can’t help it!” The years just keep flying by!

Your fifth year was quite a milestone achievement. You went to Kindergarten! Your teacher was Mrs. Brumbelow and you adored her. You came home every single day excited about learning. Your biggest accomplishment was learning to read this year. You are an incredible reader and I love how you devour books. You love all books written by Mo Willems and have a love for Junie B. Jones.

This year I have watched as you have grown into a beautiful and compassionate young lady. You are kind to others. You believe in fairness. You are hardworking and independent. You love dresses, high heels, nail polish, purses, the color purple, and anything else girly. You play dress up every day. We got your ears pierced a few weeks ago and now you have started the countdown until you can wear earrings that will match all of your outfits. Speaking of outfits, your closet has far surpassed mine! You love to dance and you LOVE to talk. I adore that you want to tell me about everything that goes on in your life. You wear your heart on your sleeve; you get your feelings hurt easily, but you are quick to forgive. You’re afraid of a lot of things too, but you claim that when you are 6, you’ll be braver. We shall see if this bravery extends to dogs anytime soon. You make me laugh every single day. You’re my absolute favorite.

Camdyn, you are my heart, my precious treasure. You bring me such joy. I am so thankful that the Lord blessed me with you. You have such a wonderful future ahead and I pray every day that the Lord will use you in a mighty way. I pray you would be a light to others in this incredibly dark world. Jesus won’t be the popular choice and it won’t be easy to stand firm for the Lord as you grow up. Choose to be different Camdyn!

I
am so proud of you and I love you to the moon, sweet Camdyn.

Love,

Momma
